IMPLEMENTS FOR FUTURE GLACIAL SCOURING

Supply chains move natural materials faster and farther than nature ever has. Even glaciers which move granite erratics for several miles can't compete with the speed or distance of supply & demand which brings granite floor tiles from China to every big-box home improvement store in America on a weekly basis. This mass movement of materials contributes to global warming and has pushed the next ice age off 100,000 years into the deep future. The period of time between then and now will be a time of rethinking the way humans can collaborate with "nature". Here are some selected images from an on-going land-art project that attempts to prime landscapes with land-form carving tools made from supply-chain materials and placed in sequences to be used by glaciers in the next ice-age to produce particular landscapes in the deep future.
